MemLoci Info Page
MemLoci is a predictor specifically trained to discriminate the localization of membrane proteins between three classes:
- - Plasma Membrane
- - Internal Membrane
- - Organelle Membrane
The three localization classes are derived from a grouping of all the membranes available in eukaryotes, and corresponds to:
- - Plasma membrane: Plasma membrane
- - Organelle membranes: mitochondrial or plastidial membranes
- - Internal membranes: endoplasmic reticulum, nucleus, golgi apparatus, vesicles, vacuoles, lysosomes, peroxisome, microsomes, and endosome membranes
Please note that MemLoci cannot discriminate if a protein is associated to a cell membrane or not. For this task please use one of the many specific predictors avalable.
